SCIRE (PROBABLY) - Tyre

Diving the *Scirè*, or what we strongly suspect is the *Scirè*, off Tyre offers a real sense of history. This Italian submarine, sunk in 1942, lies at 31 metres, a dark, intriguing shape on the seabed. She’s a dangerous wreck, as the charts note, meaning penetration is out of the question and best avoided, but there’s still plenty to explore around her hull. Look for moray eels tucked into crevices and schools of snapper circling the conning tower. It’s a dive for those who appreciate military history and the eerie quiet of a wartime grave, without needing vibrant coral gardens. The currents can be a bit shifty, so we’d suggest this one for more experienced divers.
