SUSANNE M - Tyre

The Susanne M, found just off Tyre, isn't your typical deep wreck dive. She’s essentially a very shallow, broken-up motor vessel, having run aground and sunk back in 1976 while trying to berth. We’re talking a maximum depth of 1 metre, which makes it less about penetration and more about exploring the scattered pieces of her hull and superstructure. It’s a fascinating spot for snorkelers or very shallow divers, offering a chance to get up close with a piece of maritime history that’s become a home for various smaller fish and crabs. The metal framework, now heavily encrusted, casts interesting shadows and provides plenty of nooks and crannies to peer into.
