An Anne Wreck

Forget what you think you know about Red Sea wrecks. The An Anne, just off Jeddah, isn't some crowded tourist magnet. We love it because it feels like *our* wreck, a proper exploration. The wreck itself is a relatively shallow proposition, making it accessible for most divers, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's boring. What strikes you first is the sheer size of the cargo holds, easily penetrable if you're comfortable and trained. Light streams through gaps, illuminating schools of glassfish that shimmer like scattered jewels. Keep an eye out for batfish patrolling the superstructure; they’re incredibly inquisitive here. Around the bow, you’ll often spot a few large groupers, almost part of the wreck now, blending into the rust. Our favourite tip? Go early. You get the best light, and the silence, broken only by your bubbles, really lets you connect with the history of the place. We’d suggest this one for divers who appreciate a wreck with a story, not just a coral garden.
