STAR OF JEDDAH - Jeddah
The Star of Jeddah, a motor vessel that went down in 1969, sits upright on Mismari Reef at a very manageable 20 metres. We like it because it’s a solid wreck dive for those looking for something a bit less intense than some of the deeper Red Sea offerings. You can still make out the superstructure, and the holds are open enough for some easy penetration, letting you poke around inside where schools of yellowfin goatfish often shelter. The coral growth isn't as dramatic as some older wrecks, but plenty of reef fish, like parrotfish and angelfish, cruise around the decking, making for a relaxed exploration. It’s a good one for a second dive or for divers getting comfortable with wreck diving.
