ADEL-104 is a wreck dive where divers can encounter blacktip reef sharks, sea turtles and whale sharks. Water ranges 23-34°C, warmest July, August, September.
ADEL-104 is one of those Fujairah wrecks we keep coming back to. Forget grand ocean liners; this is a humble barge, but it’s packed with character. Resting upright at 25 metres, its open holds are perfect for easy penetration, even if you’re new to overhead environments. We love slipping through the shadowy interior, watching the light shafts cut through the water, revealing schools of yellowfin barracuda that often hover just inside. The wreck itself is a magnet for marine life. Look for moray eels tucked into every crevice, and we’ve often spotted large porcupinefish cruising slowly around the deck. Our favourite spot is the stern, where you’ll find a dense growth of colourful soft corals, often swaying gently in the mild current. The visibility here can be superb, especially in the mornings, giving the whole site a wonderfully clear, inviting feel. It’s a genuinely relaxing dive, best suited for those who appreciate the quiet beauty of a colonised wreck rather than a vibrant reef.

Little is known about its history or how it sank, but its official classification as a 'Dangerous Wreck' suggests it may pose a hazard to navigation or contains potentially unstable structures. For divers, this means a site that requires careful exploration and good buoyancy control. The open holds and flat deck typical of a barge provide a unique underwater landscape, which has now been colonized by the rich marine life of the Gulf of Oman, attracting schools of fish and a variety of macro critters.
