KAVEH 1 - Fujairah
Kaveh 1 is not your typical Fujairah wreck. It’s shallow, only nine metres, which means you get incredible bottom time and good light penetration. It’s also completely upside down, which makes for some seriously interesting swim-throughs beneath the hull. We love how the light plays inside those inverted compartments, catching on the schools of snapper that hang out there. You’ll find nudibranchs clinging to the metal, and often a grumpy moray eel peering out from a dark corner. The ship itself isn't massive, but the way it's settled creates a maze of passages. It's a fantastic site for newer wreck divers to practice buoyancy and penetration in a safe, well-lit environment. Our favourite time to dive Kaveh 1 is early morning, before any boat traffic kicks up the sand, when the visibility is at its best and the resident lionfish are still a bit sleepy. Just be mindful of the occasional surge if there’s a swell, as it can push you around a bit inside the wreck.
