Araí
Why dive here
With 33+ marine species recorded in the area - including sperm whales - Araí offers some of Mar del Plata's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 10-21°C, warmest January, February, March.
The Araí wreck in Mar del Plata is a shallow dive, barely a metre deep, making it more of a snorkel or wade for most. This isn't a site for traditional diving, but it offers a unique look at a ship reclaimed by the shallows. We found small fish darting through the decaying timbers, a good spot for curious eyes keen on an accessible wreck exploration from the surface.
