EBENEZER - Mar del Plata

The Ebenezer is a proper piece of history, grounded right off Mar del Plata. It sits shallow, just 12 metres down, making it surprisingly accessible for most divers. We love that it’s not some perfectly preserved museum piece, but a broken, working wreck, covered in the rough texture of the ocean. You’ll feel the surge working around the hull plates as you weave through the superstructure, and the light plays off the rust in a way that’s genuinely dramatic. Our favourite thing about the Ebenezer is how well it illustrates the passage of time. Barnacles encrust almost every surface, and it’s become a haven for crabs and various small fish, darting in and out of the crevices. We’d suggest going on a calm day, because while the depth isn't an issue, the currents around the wreck can pick up, making it a more challenging dive than it first appears. It’s a site for divers who appreciate the raw beauty of a ship reclaimed by the sea.
