EUGENIO L - Mar del Plata

The Eugenio L, a launch vessel that now rests in just six metres of water off Mar del Plata, is one of our favourite wreck dives for its sheer approachability. You don't need fancy gear or deep diving certs; it's a perfect spot for newer divers to experience a proper wreck without the pressure. We love dropping onto the small, intact hull, which has become a surprising magnet for life despite its shallow depth. As you descend, the wreck’s outline slowly sharpens out of the green-blue, often with schools of silversides shimmering above the deck. The currents here can be a bit frisky, so we always suggest timing your dive for slack tide to properly explore the nooks and crannies. Look closely and you’ll find small crabs scuttling over the rusting metal, and surprisingly large Patagonian blennies peering out from crevices. It’s a simple wreck, but its accessibility and the life it now supports make it a solid choice when you’re in Mar del Plata.
