MARANGATU - Mar del Plata

Marangatu isn't about depth or pristine reefs; it’s a time capsule, sitting in just 3 metres of water, perfect for a long, relaxed exploration. We love how accessible it is, making it ideal for newer divers or anyone wanting a chill dive without the pressure. This old tug, still showing its mast reaching towards the surface, has really become a home for the local critters. You'll fin around the superstructure, spotting small crabs scuttling over corroded metal and schools of silversides flickering through the open doorways. The visibility can vary, but even on an average day, the sheer amount of life that has moved in makes it fascinating. We’d suggest going at high tide; the water tends to be a bit calmer and clearer then, making it easier to really take your time poking around the nooks and crannies. It’s a proper piece of maritime history, reclaimed by the sea.
