NO 242B - Mar del Plata

NO 242B, the old tug, is our go-to in Mar del Plata for something a bit different. She sits shallow, just five metres deep, making her perfect for an easy, hour-long potter. We love dropping onto her deck first thing in the morning when the sun’s low and the light filters through the structure. You can fin right into the engine room, through the wheelhouse, and out the other side. There’s enough intact metalwork to give you a real sense of her past. She’s blanketed in anemones and small mussels, and we’ve often found king crabs scuttling over her hull. The current can pick up, so we always check the tides before heading out; slack water makes for a much more relaxed exploration. It’s a site that rewards a slow pace, letting you really soak in the atmosphere of this working boat turned accidental reef.
