This isn't your typical deep, dark wreck dive, and that's precisely why we love it. What you get here is pure, unadulterated exploration of a genuine piece of history, just barely submerged. The Vizcaino Nº 14 is a fantastic spot, especially when the wind is low and the sun is high. You’ll find the remains of this old fishing vessel just off the coast, its skeletal structure emerging and submerging with the gentle swell. Imagine a ghost ship, but one you can practically reach out and touch from the surface. We've spent hours here, just finning slowly, watching the light play through the ribs of the hull. It’s shallow, obviously, so it's a snorkel and free-dive site, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's boring. The hull is surprisingly intact in places, a chaotic jumble of rusted metal beams and plates. Schools of silversides dart in and out of the shadows, and we’ve often seen crabs scuttling amongst the growth on the metal. It’s fascinating how quickly marine life colonises something. The visibility can be a bit tricky after a storm, but on a good day, it's remarkably clear, and the shallow depth means you get fantastic natural light illuminating everything. Our top tip?
