Fenda da Menina (Mergulho) - Arraial do Cabo

Fenda da Menina is where Arraial truly flexes its geological muscles. We love dropping into this crack in the rock face, a narrow canyon that just begs to be explored. It’s a completely different vibe from the open reefs. As you descend, the light shifts dramatically, filtering down in shafts, creating these incredible plays of shadow and brilliance. The rock walls are covered in tube worms and sponges, a textured tapestry. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff in the crevices – we often spot juvenile fish darting into cracks, and the occasional inquisitive moray eel peeking out. The water here can be a few degrees cooler, a refreshing change. Our favourite part is navigating the swim-throughs, twisting and turning, then emerging into the bright blue again. It's a site that rewards a slow, deliberate dive, really letting you soak in the unique topography. You don't need to go deep to appreciate it either; the real beauty is in the structure itself. This is for divers who appreciate dramatic underwater landscapes and the thrill of exploration over just spotting big pelagics.
