With 55+ marine species recorded in the area - including humpback whales - Ilha das Couves offers some of Arraial do Cabo's richest reef diving. Water ranges 22-28°C, warmest January, February, March.
Ilha das Couves usually delivers calm conditions, making it a good choice for newer divers or those getting back into the swing of things. The topography is mostly rocky, with some areas of scattered coral providing shelter for schools of grunts and the occasional moray eel. We've often spotted turtles here, too, lazily cruising along the seabed. It’s a solid, relaxed dive, a nice warm-up for the more exposed sites around Arraial.
