Victory B8 - Arraial do Cabo

The Victory B8 feels like stepping back in time, a truly atmospheric wreck dive off Arraial do Cabo. This former trawler, sunk intentionally in the late 1990s, has settled upright at around 25 metres, making it very accessible for advanced open water divers. We’ve always found the visibility here to be surprisingly good, often pushing 20 metres, especially in the morning before the day boats stir things up. What we really love about the B8 is how quickly marine life has claimed it. You descend onto the wheelhouse, now a busy apartment block for fat Atlantic spadefish and grunts. Swim through the main cargo holds and you’ll find glassy sweepers schooling so densely it’s like swimming through a silver cloud. Look closely for rough-toothed dolphins, we’ve seen them cruise by a few times. Our favourite part has to be the stern, where the prop is still largely intact, covered in ten-ray star coral and patrolled by inquisitive blue runners. It’s a proper wreck penetration if you’re comfortable, but even exploring the exterior offers plenty to see. Just watch out for the occasional surge if there’s a swell running.
