With 131+ marine species recorded in the area - including sea turtles, sperm whales and pufferfish - The Overhang Kusu South offers some of Halmahera's richest wall diving. Water ranges 29-30°C, warmest April, May, December.
The Overhang Kusu South gives you a nice, easy wall dive, perfect for a relaxed afternoon. The reef plateaus at about 23 metres, so it’s a good spot to spend some time exploring without pushing the limits. We've often found small reef sharks patrolling the deeper sections, and the overhangs themselves shelter a surprising number of sleeping parrotfish. It’s an intermediate dive, straightforward to navigate, and generally offers calm conditions, making it a solid choice if you’re looking for something enjoyable and not too demanding.
