AB29 - Lombok & Gili Islands

AB29, a motor vessel wreck off Lombok, offers a surprisingly accessible dive. We usually drop onto the superstructure, which starts around 18 metres, then work our way down the hull to the sand at 30 metres. What we really love here is how the currents, usually moderate, have sculpted the wreck, giving it a ghost ship feel. Look for the schools of batfish hanging in the open holds and the resident lionfish tucked into crevices. It's a site that suits divers who appreciate wrecks as artificial reefs, not just historical artefacts.
