Nusa Dua Dive Centre - Lombok & Gili Islands
The team at Nusa Dua Dive Centre are the kind of people you want to dive with. They’re based in Lombok, which we find a welcome change from the Gili Trawangan bustle sometimes. We love that they focus on smaller groups, meaning you actually get to know your guide and fellow divers, rather than feeling like another number on a packed boat. For divers looking to explore the sites around Lombok and the southern Gilis without the usual crowds, Nusa Dua is an excellent pick. We’ve found their PADI courses run with genuine care; they don't rush you, ensuring you're comfortable and confident before pushing on. Our favourite tip for diving with them: ask about their trips to the Secret Garden. It’s a bit of a journey but worth it for the chance to drift over those vibrant soft corals, seeing reef sharks slip by in the blue, and feeling that gentle current push you along. Visibility here can hit 25 metres on a good day, with schools of barracuda circling above the deeper pinnacles. They also do solid day trips to the Gilis if you want to sample those sites, but with a different vibe than diving directly from Trawangan. Expect a relaxed pace, good humour, and a genuine passion for showing off Lombok’s underwater world.
