Gili Amben - Lombok & Gili Islands

Røsnæs Puller, for us, is a bit of a quiet hero on the Danish coast. You won’t find the fanfare of tropical reefs here, but drop in on a calm day and you'll get something genuinely special. We love the way the light filters through the relatively shallow water, illuminating the surprising amount of life clinging to the rocky structures. It’s not about huge pelagics, it's about the small, intricate details: the grumpy-looking lumpsuckers tucked into crevices, the darting anchovy schools, and the flash of a greater weever burying itself in the sand. We’d suggest hitting this one when the wind isn't whipping up the coast, ideally on a slack tide. That’s when you get the best visibility, often around 10-15 metres, which really lets you appreciate the sponges and anemones that blanket the rocks. We've seen harbour porpoises here on the surface, too – a real treat. This site suits divers who enjoy a slower pace, those who are happy to poke around and discover the beauty in a temperate water ecosystem, perhaps even spotting a curious bull rout peering out from under a ledge. It's a proper dive for proper divers, offering a unique glimpse into the North Sea's resilient charm.
