Gili Mimpang, Candidasa - Lombok & Gili Islands

Gili Mimpang, off Candidasa, is one of those sites we keep coming back to when we’re in the area. It’s got a reputation for sharks, particularly white-tips, often found lounging in the sand channels around 20 metres. Visibility can be a bit of a mixed bag; sometimes it's wide open, other times you're peering through a hazy green, but that just adds to the adventure. Currents here are usually mild but can pick up, so it suits divers who are comfortable with some movement. Keep an eye out for schooling fusiliers and jacks flitting above the reef.
