With 246+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue-spotted stingrays, bull sharks, grey reef sharks, manta rays and mobula rays (devil rays) - Gili Tepekong - The Canyon offers some of Lombok & Gili Islands's richest diving. Water ranges 28-30°C, warmest April, May, November.
Gili Tepekong's Canyon is a drift dive, often with a decent push, so it's one for those comfortable with currents. You'll drop onto a sloping reef, then follow the topography into deeper water where a series of channels and swim-throughs carve through the rock. Keep an eye out for reef sharks patrolling the deeper sections and schooling fish moving with the flow. It’s a good choice for divers looking for a bit of excitement and some pelagic action.
