Shark Point, Gili Trawangan - Lombok & Gili Islands
Shark Point, off Gili Trawangan, often gets a bad rap for its name. We've certainly never seen a "point" made of sharks, though we do spot plenty of reef sharks here, usually whitetips cruising the sandy bottom. It's a gentle slope down to 22 metres, dotted with bommies and small coral patches. You'll often find a decent number of turtles grazing, and big schools of fusiliers can really light up the place when they're feeding. Current can pick up a bit, but for beginners looking for some easy action and a chance to see some bigger stuff, it's a solid choice.
