Why dive here
With 246+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue-spotted stingrays, bull sharks, grey reef sharks, manta rays and mobula rays (devil rays) - Takat Patokanan offers some of Lombok & Gili Islands's richest reef diving. Water ranges 28-30°C, warmest April, May, November.
Takat Patokanan offers a good example of the fringing reefs around the Gili Islands. You’ll find a mix of hard and soft corals here, providing shelter for the usual reef fish: snapper, fusiliers, and a few parrotfish. It’s a gentle dive, generally with mild currents, making it a good option for newer divers looking for a relaxed exploration rather than dramatic action. Visibility tends to be consistent, around 15-20 metres on average.
