With 246+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue-spotted stingrays, bull sharks, grey reef sharks, manta rays and mobula rays (devil rays) - The River offers some of Lombok & Gili Islands's richest diving. Water ranges 28-30°C, warmest April, May, November.
The River, off Lombok, offers a drift dive experience over a sandy bottom, transitioning to a reef slope. We’ve found it’s a good spot for spotting schooling fusiliers and the occasional reef shark gliding by. Currents here can be strong, making it better suited for divers comfortable with a faster pace. It’s a decent option if you’re looking for a relaxed drift without too many demands.
