Trawangan Dive Biorock - Lombok & Gili Islands
The Trawangan Dive Biorock site is a fascinating recovery project right off Gili Trawangan. We like to drop in here, usually for a second dive, to see how the reef is coming along. You’ll find those distinctive metal structures, charged with low voltage, acting as a skeleton for new coral growth. Keep an eye out for the Pink Anemonefish darting amongst the newer polyps; they’re definitely settling in. We've spotted a few juvenile whitetip reef sharks cruising by, and if you look closely, there are tiny seastar shrimp tucked away. It's a gentle dive, good for all levels, and an interesting counterpoint to the natural reefs nearby.
