Turtle Point - Lombok & Gili Islands
Turtle Point, off the Gili Islands, is exactly what it sounds like. We’ve found it’s a reliable spot for encountering green and hawksbill turtles, often just cruising along the reef slope. Look carefully at the patches of thalassia seagrass, because that’s where they’re often grazing, heads down. The corals here, particularly the staghorn and table varieties, provide plenty of shelter for smaller reef fish and the occasional boring clam. It’s a pretty mellow dive, perfect for a relaxed afternoon or for divers who want to take their time with photography without fighting a strong current.
