Chicken Reef, in Raja Ampat, might not be a household name, but it consistently delivers a relaxed, satisfying dive. We often find ourselves drifting along the shallow reef, spotting the usual suspects like blue-lined surgeonfish. But keep your eyes peeled; it's a great spot for the smaller stuff. We've seen Denise's pygmy seahorses tucked into gorgonians here, along with slender snake eels poking out from the sand. It’s a gentle introduction to Raja Ampat’s reefs, ideal for a second dive or if you’re keen on macro photography without a strong current pushing you around.
