Meridian Adventure Dive - Raja Ampat
The team at Meridian Adventure Dive are a slick operation, based right in Waisai. We love that they offer a more structured, almost resort-style experience for Raja Ampat, which can be a welcome change from liveaboards if you’re looking for a comfortable base on land. They really suit divers who want to explore the region’s incredible reefs but also enjoy creature comforts and a bit of pampering after a day in the water. Plus, being a PADI 5 Star IDC Resort means the training here is top-notch, ideal if you're looking to advance your skills or even go pro in a truly stunning location. What really sets Meridian apart, for us, is their commitment to smaller groups and a well-organised dive day. We’ve found the boats are always well-equipped and the guides genuinely know the sites, pointing out pygmy seahorses tucked into gorgonians or a wobbegong shark chilling under a ledge. We still remember a dive at Manta Ridge with them, where the mantas swooped so close we could feel the displacement of water as they passed. They often run two-tank morning dives, getting you back in time for lunch, leaving the afternoon free for relaxing or exploring Waisai. It’s a great balance, and honestly, after a week of diving, a hot shower and a proper bed every night makes a real difference. If you're looking for that land-based Raja Ampat experience, these guys are high on our list.
