Misool Resort - Raja Ampat
Misool Resort isn't just a place to dive, it's a profound immersion into conservation and some of Raja Ampat’s most vibrant reefs. The team here have built something truly special, a genuine outpost that feels miles from anywhere and absolutely committed to protecting the area. We love how the bungalows are built from reclaimed wood, blending right into the jungle, and the lack of phone signal is a genuine blessing – you truly disconnect. Diving here, you’ll spend your days exploring sites like ‘Nudi Rock’ or ‘Boo Windows’. We still remember the sheer density of schooling fusiliers at ‘Magic Mountain’, so thick they actually dimmed the light, with manta rays cruising through the haze. The currents can be lively, as you’d expect in Raja Ampat, but the guides are excellent at reading them, often positioning you perfectly to watch reef sharks hunt or bumphead parrotfish chomp at the coral. Our favourite tip? Head out for the early morning dive. The water feels incredibly fresh, and the reef is just waking up, often with an octopus or two still out hunting. This resort is for divers who appreciate genuine eco-tourism and want to see how their holiday contributes directly to marine protection.
