With 236+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, manta rays, mobula rays (devil rays), pygmy seahorses and sea turtles - Karang Bais offers some of Raja Ampat's richest reef diving. Water ranges 29-30°C, warmest May, November, December.
Karang Bais, located within the Raja Ampat archipelago, offers a classic Indonesian reef dive. You'll navigate a healthy coral slope where reef sharks often cruise by and schools of fusiliers dart in and out of the bommies. It’s a good spot for divers looking for a solid example of Raja Ampat’s general coral health, without necessarily chasing pelagics. We’d suggest it for an easy second or third dive of the day.
