Lao lao - Raja Ampat
Lao lao in Raja Ampat might not grab headlines like some of its neighbours, but we've found it’s a solid, enjoyable dive. The topography here is fairly gentle, a sloping reef where we often spot species like the Sidespotted Dragonet meticulously sifting the sand, or a patient search will usually reveal Pygmy seahorses clinging to gorgonians. Keep an eye out for the unusual Gelatinous Cardinalfish too, a rather striking resident. It’s a site that rewards those who like to take their time and really observe the smaller stuff. We'd suggest it for divers who appreciate macro photography or simply enjoy a relaxed pace to their dive.
