Sawandarek Jetty - Raja Ampat

Sawandarek Jetty is a gentle entry into Raja Ampat diving, perfect for easing into the rhythm of the reefs. We often spend an hour or so under the jetty itself, poking around the pilings and sandy patches. You'll find a surprising amount of macro life here, from tiny Denise’s pygmy seahorses tucked into gorgonians, if you have a keen eye, to the curious clown anemonefish tending their homes. Look for the distinctive cleaner mimic blenny, a clever little fish that, true to its name, mimics a cleaner wrasse. It’s also a good spot to observe the often-overlooked beauty of seagrass beds, where you might spot a slender snake eel or various dragonets fluttering over the blades. The current is usually mild, making it a relaxing dive, well-suited for underwater photographers or those new to Raja Ampat.
