With 238+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, giant moray eels, pygmy seahorses, seahorses and sperm whales - Black Rock offers some of Sulawesi's richest diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest June, October, November.
Black Rock sits off Sulawesi, a single, dark pinnacle rising from the depths. This rocky outcrop attracts a good mix of pelagic action, with schools of jacks and barracuda often circling the deeper sections. It’s a site for divers who appreciate the drama of open water and don’t mind a bit of current to see the bigger stuff. We’d suggest it for intermediate divers looking for a more dynamic experience.
