With 238+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, giant moray eels, pygmy seahorses, seahorses and sperm whales - Kampung Baru offers some of Sulawesi's richest diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest June, October, November.
Kampung Baru is a straightforward shore dive, often used for check-out dives or a relaxed afternoon. You’ll find a gently sloping reef, mostly sand and rubble with patches of soft coral, home to plenty of gobies and blennies. It’s a good spot for spotting nudibranchs and smaller critters if you take your time. This site works well for newer divers or those looking for a macro-focused, easy dive without strong currents.
