Sugar Wreck - Perhentian Islands

The Sugar Wreck is our pick for Perhentian wrecks, sitting upright on the sandy bottom, around 18 metres down. It’s a cargo ship, sank sometime in the 2000s, so it’s had a good amount of time for marine life to move in. You can swim through a few open holds and along the deck. Look for massive schools of yellow snapper and barracuda hanging around the superstructure. We’ve also seen bamboo sharks tucked away in corners. It’s a pretty easy wreck dive, not much current usually, making it a good spot for newer wreck divers or those wanting a relaxed second dive.
