TAKASAGO MARU (POSSIBLY) - Perhentian Islands

Dropping onto the Takasago Maru, you're immediately struck by the sheer scale of it, even at a shallow 13 metres. This tanker, sunk by a British submarine back in 1945, lies in surprisingly good condition, its hull largely intact and offering plenty of opportunities to peer into shadowy openings. We often find schooling fusiliers swirling around the main structure, and the occasional turtle resting on the deck plates. It’s a compelling dive for anyone interested in history and a gentle wreck exploration.
