With 176+ marine species recorded in the area - including giant moray eels, sea turtles, sperm whales, lionfish and pufferfish - Dimakya Island offers some of Apo Reef's richest diving. Water ranges 28-30°C, warmest May, June, July.
Dimakya Island, part of the wider Apo Reef system, offers a gentle introduction to the area's coral formations. It's a good spot for newer divers looking to build confidence, with generally mild currents and decent visibility. You’ll find a mix of hard and soft corals, home to smaller reef fish, the usual suspects like anemonefish and wrasse. It’s not the most dramatic dive in Apo, but it’s a pleasant, easygoing option.
