Dive Sibaltan - Apo Reef
The team at Dive Sibaltan are absolute pros, and our pick if you’re looking to properly explore Apo Reef. What we love about them is their genuine commitment to the place, it feels less like a business and more like diving with a really passionate group of friends. They’re PADI through and through, offering everything from your Open Water right up to Divemaster, but their real strength is helping you get deep into Apo’s character. Forget the crowds. Dive Sibaltan is based out of Sibaltan, a quiet village on Palawan, making it a perfect springboard for multi-day liveaboard trips out to Apo Reef itself. We’d suggest bringing your own gear if you can, as they don't offer rentals, but that just means more space for your underwater cameras. On the reef, we’ve seen schools of snapper so thick they blot out the sun, grey reef sharks patrolling the drop-offs, and once, a manta ray gliding so close we could feel the pressure wave. Keep an eye on the currents; they can be strong, especially around the reef’s outer edges, but that’s where the pelagics often hang out. Dive Sibaltan’s guides know these waters intimately, reading the movements of the sea like a book, always putting you in the best spot.
