Chapel - Bohol

Chapel isn’t just another dive site off Panglao. It’s one of our favourite afternoon drift dives, particularly if the sun's still high and you can catch the light filtering down. The site itself is a gentle slope, mostly rubble and sand, but don't let that fool you. This place is a macro photographer's dream. We love it for the sheer density of unusual critters. You really need to slow down here, get close to the substrate. We’ve found everything from Big-spot Anglers camouflaged against sponges to tiny Chestnut Blennies peeking out of holes, their expressions comically serious. Keep an eye out for Blackspotted Rockskippers; they’re surprisingly endearing. The Silver Javelin and Greenfish often cruise by, but the real magic is in the small stuff. The reef margin blennies are everywhere, often guarding tiny egg clutches. It's a relaxed dive, mostly shallow, so great for extending your bottom time and just soaking in the details.
