Cogon - Bohol

Cogon in Bohol is one of those sites that just works, especially if you’re into the smaller, more intricate stuff. We love it as a morning dive, getting in before the day fully heats up and the light angles just right. Drop down, and you’re immediately enveloped by the reef structure, a mix of soft and hard corals that feel alive with motion. Look for the Horned Bannerfish, their long dorsal fins waving in the gentle surge, or the Compressed Tobies, often peeking out from behind a coral head. Our favourite here is taking it slow, really combing over the reef. We’ve found Stobbs' Pygmygobies tucked away, and the juvenile Orbicular Batfish are always a delight, looking like tiny, oversized leaves drifting past. You'll drift along with a mild current, making for an easy, relaxing dive. Keep an eye out for Great Barracuda cruising in the blue, though usually they keep their distance. Cogon is perfect for photographers, or anyone who enjoys a leisurely dive focused on spotting unique reef fish.
