Doljo Point - Bohol

Doljo Point, on Panglao Island, Bohol, is one of those sites we always try to hit, especially on a morning dive. The reef starts shallow, around 5m, then gradually slopes down, hitting about 25m at the edge. It's a gentle drift most days, which means less finning and more looking. We love following the contours, keeping an eye out for the Eye-lash Harptail-Blennies peeking from their holes. The coral here, a mix of corrugated and organ pipe, is really healthy. You’ll find loads of small stuff hiding in the nooks – Palebarred Reefgobies are common, as are Bicolor Nudibranchs if you slow down and look closely. Our favourite spot is around 15m, where the soft corals really bloom. You often see squadrons of Ternate Chromis dancing above the reef, and Blacktip Soldierfish lurk in the shadier spots. Keep an eye out for Diana's Hogfish too, they're always a treat. It’s a site that rewards patience; the more you look, the more you see. This is a perfect dive for macro photographers or anyone who enjoys a relaxed, unhurried exploration of a healthy reef.
