Pungtud Wall - Bohol

Pungtud Wall is one of those Bohol sites that reminds us why we haul all our gear halfway across the world. It’s a solid wall dive, no fancy tricks, just good, honest reef with plenty to keep your eyes busy. We love dropping in and immediately feeling the cool water against the rock face, scanning for the usual suspects. Keep an eye out for the two-spot bristletooth doing its thing, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot a common dragonet flitting about – they’re shy but worth the patience. The spine coral and corrugated coral formations provide plenty of nooks and crannies for little blennies and gobies. We’ve seen angelfish here that seem to pose for photos, and the diagonal-lined wrasse always provides a splash of colour. This spot is excellent for divers who appreciate a slower pace, giving you time to really soak in the details. It’s not about big pelagics here, though a sperm whale sighting once in a blue moon certainly wouldn't hurt, but rather about the sheer density of smaller reef life. We'd suggest going in the morning; the light can be lovely filtering down the wall.
