Sunken Island - Dumaguete
Sunken Island, just off Dumaguete, is a decent outing for those who like a good wreck. It’s less a single vessel and more a jumble of concrete blocks and scattered debris, but don’t let that put you off. Over the years, this artificial reef has really come into its own, drawing in a surprising number of critters. We’ve seen everything from schooling snapper to feathery crinoids clinging to the rebar. It’s a site that rewards a slow poke, poking around the nooks and crannies to see what’s hiding. It’s generally a pretty calm dive, good for most experience levels looking for something a bit different from the usual reef hop.
