With 87+ marine species recorded in the area - including sea turtles, thresher sharks, lionfish and pufferfish - Chocolate Island offers some of Malapascua's richest reef diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest June, July, September.
Chocolate Island offers a shallower dive, a good option when the currents are a bit strong elsewhere. You'll often find a decent collection of nudibranchs and small reef fish here, along with the occasional cuttlefish or octopus tucked into the rocks. It’s a nice, relaxed second dive, especially for those who enjoy taking their time to spot the smaller stuff.
