Sea Explorers - Malapascua
The team at Sea Explorers are, quite frankly, a well-oiled machine. They’ve been here in Malapascua forever, since ’89, and you feel that experience from the moment you step onto the sand in front of their shop. We’ve always found their dive guides to be sharp, excellent at spotting the subtle stuff, and they run a tight boat operation – important when you’re heading out to Monad Shoal before dawn for thresher sharks. We’ve been on their boats when the sea’s a bit choppy, and they handle it well, always prioritising safety and comfort. What we really appreciate about Sea Explorers is their focus on making every dive count. They specialise in those early morning thresher shark dives, obviously, but they’re equally good for some relaxed macro diving around Lighthouse or exploring Gato Island. Their PADI courses range from beginner to Divemaster, and we’ve seen them handle students with patience and professionalism. If you’re looking for a smooth, reliable operation that knows Malapascua inside out, and you appreciate guides who can find a pygmy seahorse in a hurricane, then these are your people. They also offer a good Nitrox course, which is handy for extending bottom time on those deeper shark dives.
