Basco, off Siargao, offers a proper wreck dive, a motor vessel that went down back in '64. We found the stern sitting at around 30 meters, while the bow slopes deeper, hitting 55m at its furthest point. It's a proper dark silhouette against the blue, and you'll spot plenty of resident reef fish darting in and out of the corroded superstructure – schools of fusiliers are common here. Given the depth and the potential for currents, this one is definitely for experienced divers comfortable with deeper profiles. It’s not about penetration, but rather appreciating the scale of the wreck and the life it now supports.

    Safety Notes

Maximum depth 55m exceeds recreational limits (40m). Technical diving certification and equipment required.

Wreck site - avoid penetration without wreck diving certification. Watch for sharp metal and entanglement hazards.

Always perform a 3-minute safety stop at 5m before surfacing.
