Cebu Great Ocean - Siargao
Alright, let's talk about Cebu Great Ocean. If you’re like us, and you hear "wreck" and picture a dramatic, deep-sea behemoth, you’re going to be surprised here. This isn't that. It's a landing craft, sure, but it’s sitting right in the shallows, the stern almost poking out of the water at low tide. We’ve even snorkelled it, but really, get a tank on. The beauty of Cebu Great Ocean is its accessibility and how nature has reclaimed it. We love easing into the dive, finning over the flat sandy bottom towards the dark silhouette. The wreck itself isn't huge, but there's enough structure left – ribs, plates, some open holds – to make for an engaging explore. Look for the clouds of juvenile snapper that swirl around the remains of the bridge. Our favourite part is peeking into the darker corners for lionfish or stonefish tucked away, perfectly camouflaged. It’s an easy, relaxing dive, perfect for a relaxed afternoon when you're not chasing big pelagics but still want something interesting to see. The light plays beautifully through the shallow water, illuminating the colours on the coral growth that's started to colonise the metal.
