With 82+ marine species recorded in the area - including manta rays, mobula rays (devil rays), whale sharks and pufferfish - White Island Black Forrest offers some of Siargao's richest reef diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest June, August, September.
Dropping down at Black Forrest, you’re immediately enveloped by the dark, branching corals that give the site its name. It’s a completely different vibe from the brighter reefs around Siargao. We usually find schools of jacks circling overhead, and sometimes a turtle or two lazily munching on the sponges. At 19m, it’s a comfortable intermediate dive, letting you really take your time exploring the nooks and crannies. Best dived in the morning before any afternoon currents pick up.
