Peter's Dive Resort - Visayas
The team at Peter’s Dive Resort are the real deal, no fuss, just solid diving. They’re based in Southern Leyte, a spot we really rate for its healthy reefs and fewer crowds compared to some of the busier Visayas hubs. If you’re into macro critters and unhurried dives, this is your place. We’d pick Peter's for their sheer consistency; they deliver reliable boat dives to fantastic sites, morning, noon, and night. We love that this isn't a factory dive operation. You get a genuinely personal touch, which makes a big difference when you’re spending multiple days together on the boat. Our favourite dives with them are around Napantao, particularly the wall that drops into the blue, where you can often spot schooling jacks and barracuda gliding past. Keep an eye out for pygmy seahorses tucked into gorgonian corals there. For something different, their night dives are cracking, especially around the house reef or nearby shallow sites, where we’ve seen everything from flamboyant cuttlefish to hunting lionfish. The local guides are experts at spotting the smaller stuff, so trust their eyes. We’d suggest going during the drier months, roughly November to May, for the best visibility, but honestly, the diving is pretty good year-round.
