MT Sea Reader - Southern Islands

The MT Sea Reader isn't your typical Singapore dive, and that's precisely why we love it. Instead of reefs, you're dropping onto a genuine merchant vessel wreck, sitting upright and surprisingly intact. It’s an interesting contrast to the usual reef dives in the region, offering a glimpse into a different kind of underwater world. This isn’t a drift dive; it’s about slow exploration. We’d suggest finning around the superstructure first, letting your eyes adjust. You’ll find schools of yellowtail scad swirling around the mast, and often, we spot batfish patrolling the open deck areas. The real thrill for us is peaking into the cargo holds – sometimes you’ll catch a glimpse of a sleepy bamboo shark tucked away, or a moray eel peeking from a pipe. Visibility can be a bit variable, so pick a day with calm seas and slack tide for the best experience. It's a fantastic dive for those who appreciate history and enjoy the hunt for creatures making a home in man-made structures.
